Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best! You don’t need fancy ingredients or a fridge full of everything under the sun, you just need a few fresh ingredients to make the best summer dessert! This fresh and flavourful sorbet is made with just 3 ingredients and takes about 3 minutes to make. It doesn’t get any easier than that! Continue reading →
It’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to bring to the Canada Day or Fourth of July party this year. Whenever it comes to party foods I always gravitate towards dessert. My sweet tooth always tales over my brain and dessert is pretty much the only thing I can think about. It’s fun and always everyones favourite part of the party (especially mine). Dessert doesn’t have to be complicated and have you slaving over an oven for hours or wrestling with the perfect butter cream that won’t melt in the summer heat. This raw raspberry “cheese” cake is a crowd pleaser and extremely easy to make. The best part of all, you don’t have to heat your house during the hot summer months! This frozen treat is the perfect refreshing end to a great summer celebration. Continue reading →
Today I’m reminiscing about the days full of sunshine and warmer weather. Don’t get me wrong. I do love winter but I’m about ready for spring to make an appearance. I’m starting to crave the flavours and food of spring and summer, not to mention my farmers markets and gardens full of vibrant colours and fresh produce. Since my homeland (Toronto) is still covered in snow and sporting temperatures below zero I am looking at photos of warmer days and dreaming about recipes like this delicious Vanilla Protein Latte. Raspberry season is upon us and summer is slowly fading, which means it’s time to squeeze every last bit of summer fun into your day. Play outside as long as you can, have as many bbq’s as your heart desires and eat as many popsicles as your belly can digest. One of my new favourite combinations is raspberries and green tea. They compliment each other perfectly and make the most refreshing popsicles.
Making popsicles at home is so easy and way cheaper. Not to mention healthier! You avoid all the added flavours, colours and pounds of sugar. Homemade Popsicles taste way better and you don’t have to worry about reading lengthy ingredient lists. You don’t have to sacrifice summer favourite treats when trying to live a healthy holistic life.
These Popsicles are antioxidant rich, easy to make and free of all preservatives and artificial colours.
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 green tea bags
- 1 lemon, juice
- 4 Tbsp raw sugar
- 2 cups frozen raspberries
- Add tea bags to boiling water and let steep for 5 minutes
- Cool tea by placing it in the fridge for 20 minutes
- Pour cooled tea into a blender. Add juice of 1 lemon, sugar, and raspberries.
- Blend until everything is smooth.
- Pour popsicle mixture into molds and freeze over night.
We’ve had some scorching hot days this summer and there is absolutely no better way to cool down than with a big bowl of ice cream. Im not talking about a bowl of sugar with some added artificial ingredients and a drizzle of milk. The bowl that leaves your stomach in pain and zaps your energy. I’m talking totally natural, whole food rich, dairy-free coconut ice cream. Rich, luscious, delicious and free of all artificial nasty’s. No stomach aches here, just pure satisfaction!
You can make this for your friends and they will never know it’s made with coconut milk. Top it with some coconut flakes, freeze dried strawberries, or classic sprinkles and serve during your next summer gathering. Or you can hoard it for yourself like I did 🙂
What ever you choose follow the recipe video for the tastiest dairy-free ice cream!
I love local businesses with a focus on health and nutrition. Toronto based Jule’s Wellness and Jule’s Baskets are two of my favourites. They are sister brands sharing health conscious products with the world. They support health conscious companies and provide a one stop shop for all things health. With a collaborative workspace, workshops, consultations and online boutique they have something for everyone and are there to help you along your health journey. I am so proud to be an ambassador and be apart of this amazing companies journey!
Jule’s wellness also has a fabulous blog where they share posts on self love, product reviews, health tips and recipes. I was lucky enough to be their latest guest recipe blogger. I created a delicious strawberry “cheesecake” creamsicle. Full of healthy fats and natural sweetness, they are perfect for beating this summer heat. Get the recipe on Jule’s Blog. These Popsicles are creamy, full of satisfying protein, healthy fats and natural strawberry sweetness.
If you’re a Popsicle lover like myself Nature’s Peach also has a delicious chocolate fudgesicle recipe that is out of this world. Made with avocado and mineral rich cocoa, everyone will be asking for more, and no one will know they’re dairy-free! You will be the hero, just like it should be.
